Title: Walking with Women’s Suffrage.
Venue: meet at Mytholmroyd station (Manchester platform).
Organizer: South Pennine Walk & Ride Festival & Mytholmroyd Walkers’ Action.
Route: circular, 8 miles, moderate (with some steep climbs).
Description: where did the local votes for women campaign come from? This walk circles the beautiful Upper Calder Valley, in the footsteps of Lavena Saltonstall and other local suffragettes – tracking where they lived, where they worked and where Emmeline Pankhurst held her packed Votes for Women meeting.
Walking: boots strongly advised; bring packed lunch.
